Video On Demand
VODcasting is a term used for the online delivery of video using syndication feeds. The term is an evolution derived from the generally audio-based podcast. Simply put it’s a PODcast with VIDEO (Still or Moving Pictures).
Consumers can subscribe to the syndicated feed using a computer or mobile multimedia device to be updated on current “casts” available. There is not a time limit on the VODcast but most resources suggest no longer than 15 minutes. (A resource for length http://www.richardfarrar.com/how-long-should-a-podcast-be/). Think about TV shows, 30 and 60 minute chunks possibly with commercials to break it up.
It’s like the old fashion TV network broadcasts (NBC, ABC, and CBS) turned into NETCAST or video and/or sound file (like MP4, WMV, MOV) on the computer and over the Internet, but it’s all at your fingertips to become the director, talent (actor/actress), editor, and producer.
